Specialist Practitioner Eating Disorders

We are looking for a Band 6 specialist eating disorder practitioner to join the All Age Eating Disorder team in Powys. The role will involve working with both the Community Mental Health Team and CAMHS and supporting children, young people and adults referred with an eating disorder.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and provide specialist assessment, treatment and ongoing care to a caseload of people with an eating disorder. The successful candidate will work within the legal frameworks of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010, the Social Services and Well‑Being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Health Act 1983.

The role requires effective communication and engagement skills, an evidence‑based knowledge base, and a commitment to a recovery approach and trauma‑informed model of care. A good understanding of eating disorder models and NICE guidelines is expected. Knowledge of the Welsh language is desirable but not mandatory.
