Drafting Engineer

Are you an experienced CAD Engineer who takes real pride in the craft of technical drawing? At DEME Offshore, we are looking for a seasoned Drafting Engineer to join our Equipment Development & CAD Team. We are specifically looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career as a technical drafting expert, contributing to DEME’s offshore operations for years to come.

In this position, you will prepare a wide range of 2D drawings including deck layouts, rigging arrangements, storyboards, supporting DEME’s cable lay, rock placement, and equipment development activities. You will collaborate closely with project teams, tender teams, engineers and provide reliable drafting support for project execution, and ongoing equipment improvements. This position is based at our DEME Offshore office in Breda, The Netherlands.

Your responsibilities

Compose and draft  interdisciplinary drawings  related to offshore operations;

Prepare operational Autocad 2D drawings, such as storyboards, deck layouts, rigging plans, lifting plans, etc.;

Support detailed engineering and fabrication drafting when required;

Participate in R&D and engineering brainstorms;

Contribute to CAD library and process improvements;

Maintain and organize your own work efficiently and accurately;

Identify potential engineering or operational issues and report them clearly;

(Optional) You know (willing to learn) programming and can automate routine tasks.

Your profile

You are a senior CAD professional with several years of proven experience in technical drafting, ideally within offshore, marine, or heavy industry environments;

You are passionate about precision and clarity in drawings, and you see drafting as your professional craft;

You are not seeking a temporary or stepping‑stone role, but a long‑term position where you can continue to grow as a drafting specialist;

You are proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D, Inventor, and Navisworks (or equivalent CAD software);

Experience with offshore installation works or vessel layouts is an advantage;

You are a communicative, detail‑oriented problem solver, able to work both independently and as part of a team;

Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
