Senior Equipment Engineer

We are looking for an experienced  Senior Equipment Engineer  to support engineering projects within a pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing environment.
The Senior Equipment Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, installation, commissioning, and lifecycle management of manufacturing equipment supporting Device Assembly, Inspection, Labelling, and Packaging operations. This role will act as the technical lead on OPEX and CAPEX projects, working closely with project managers, manufacturing, quality, validation, and equipment vendors to deliver robust, compliant, and high-performing manufacturing solutions.
The position will focus on equipment engineering, technical project execution, equipment design documentation, commissioning, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with GMP and engineering standards.
Bachelor's degree (HBO/BSc) or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
Minimum 6 years of engineering experience
Minimum 4 years of experience within a manufacturing or production environment

Experience with in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or highly regulated manufacturing industry
Experience leading equipment engineering or technical projects
Experience developing engineering documentation including URS, FDS, HDS, and Design Specifications

Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and start-up activities
Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment design and lifecycle management
Experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment
Experience working within GMP-regulated environments
Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Requirements   Experience supporting OPEX and CAPEX projects
Experience working with automated assembly, inspection, labeling, or packaging equipment
Experience working directly with external equipment vendors
Experience performing equipment characterization studies and engineering experiments
Experience contributing to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations
Experience supporting cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams
Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives
Knowledge of validation and qualification activities within regulated manufacturing
Experience working within medical device manufacturing environments

Key Responsibilities   Lead the technical execution of assigned equipment and manufacturing engineering projects
Act as the primary technical interface between internal stakeholders and equipment suppliers
Translate manufacturing and user requirements into technical equipment specifications
Develop engineering documentation including URS, FDS, HDS, and Design Specifications
Coordinate equipment design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering and GMP requirements
Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and start-up activities
Execute equipment characterization studies and engineering experiments to optimize equipment performance
Troubleshoot equipment-related technical issues and implement effective solutions
Support Root Cause Investigations and Cross Functional Investigations
Manage technical project activities, priorities, risks, and stakeholder communication
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, productivity, and safety
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, validation, and project teams throughout the equipment lifecycle
Ensure compliance with GMP, company procedures, engineering standards, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements
