Packaging Development Specialist(40 hours)
What will you be doing?
As packaging development specialist at Good Life Foods, you will play a key role in driving the success of our new product launches. You will lead packaging development activities across multiple ongoing NPD projects, working closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, procurement, suppliers, and production sites.
You translate commercial briefs into technical packaging concepts and ensure that every design meets functional, sustainability, and regulatory standards. With your experience, you can quickly take ownership, work independently, and deliver results within a fast-paced environment.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Lead packaging development activities for new product launches inside the organization;
Translate commercial briefs into technical packaging concepts;
Evaluate, develop and qualify packaging concepts and materials in line with functionality, sustainability, and regulatory requirements;
Identify and drive packaging optimizations, including cost improvements, material changes, and production efficiencies;
Lead packaging implementation projects in a cross functional teams;
Coordinate with NPD, procurement, suppliers, and production teams;
Lead industrial trials and ensure compliance with functionality, sustainability, and regulatory requirements;
Document packaging specifications and hand over to the Technical Office and Operations this role, you will report to the Packaging Development Manager.
Do you fit this profile?
You have a Bachelor or master degree, such as Packaging Science and Technology, Industrial Design Engineering, Food Processing or related disciplines;
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in FMCG Packaging R&D is preferred, with preference in a food environment;
You have basic knowledge of most common packaging materials and formats. An understanding of fiber based packaging and flexible film technology would be an advantage;
You have a solid knowledge of appropriate testing and qualification procedures across multiple packaging formats;
Willing to travel on a regular basis inside and outside the Netherlands;
Strong drive & passion for packaging development;
Comfortable in an international surrounding, in cross functional teams;
Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
