Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is defined as a person licensed by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy to assist a physical therapist in the delivery of treatment to patients with impairment in muscle movement and/or function resulting from injury or disease. The person in this position provides services to the following populations:
Adults (Eighteen to seventy-five-year-olds) and Geriatrics (Seventy-five years and older)
Associate Degree or 2 years of college coursework
ExperienceNo prior work experience required
Licenses & Certifications- Healthcare Provider (CPR)
- Physical Therapist Assistant
- Comprehensive knowledge of physical therapy treatment procedures.
- Graduate of an educational program that prepares certified Physical Therapist assistants and which is accredited by a recognized accrediting agency and approved by the State Board of Physical Therapy.
- Licensure by the Georgia State Board of Examiners of Physical Therapy.
- BLS is required within 30 days of hire.
