Aboutthe Role
Kitsap Credit Union is searching for a Business Development Officer III (BDO III). The BDO III is a high‑performing relationship strategist responsible for prospecting, acquiring, and growing top‑tier business relationships with substantial deposit and lending needs in the credit union’s targeted industries, while ensuring compliance with KCU’s policies and procedures. This role requires mastery in business development, public presentation, growth planning, and relationship cultivation.
The ideal candidate will excel at building relationships with centers of influence (COIs), actively engaging in networking events, and leveraging their strong sales background to deliver exceptional results. This role is vital in driving the growth and success of our business banking portfolio.
In this role, 80% of your time will be dedicated to prospecting and business development activities, with the remaining 20% focused on administrative and planning duties.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000 depending on experience
Bonus Target: 8% potential incentive of base pay

Key Responsibilities- Independently and proactively pursue, acquire, and manage complex, multi‑product business relationships which include deposits, lending, treasury, affinity programs, and KCU at Work, with businesses with $5MM to $20MM in annual sales.
- Promote and drive adoption of merchant services, ensuring members have access to efficient payment processing and point‑of‑sale solutions.
- Use out‑of‑the‑box thinking and innovative strategies to uncover business opportunities and address member needs.
- Leverage KCU approved technology to enhance business development activities, streamline member engagement, and uncover insights.
- Effectively communicate the value of our business banking products and services to prospects, focusing on long‑term partnerships.
- Collaborate and refer opportunities to Commercial Relationship Managers.
- Work closely with Business Services Specialists to transition acquired accounts for onboarding, account management, and relationship management.
- Manage the longer sales cycle associated with business member acquisition, ensuring consistent follow-up and engagement with leads.
- Maintain organized records of prospects, activities, and progress using CRM tools, ensuring leads are followed up with in a timely manner.
- Represent the credit union as a knowledgeable, respected, trusted advisor at public events, and in strategic partnerships, and high‑profile engagements.
- Expert level presentation skills. Ability to lead business‑focused workshops.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with COIs, such as CPAs, attorneys, and industry leaders, bringing awareness of the credit union difference and enhancing referral opportunities.
