Reports to: Director of Tutoring

Olympic College is continuously recruiting for an Instruction & Classroom Support Tech - CIS Tutor position that may occur throughout the year for the T-205 Technology Tutorial Center. This position will be responsible for helping students develop digital literacy skills associated with basic computer and internet use. Part‑time positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter‑by‑quarter basis.

- Assist students in analyzing assignments and understanding class materials.
- Assist students in the development of basic computer literacy skills.
- Assist students in the development of basic, structured, programming skills.
- Assist students in the development of basic networking skills.
- Assist students in clarifying critical thinking and development of communication skills.
- Assist students in the development of effective study habits and skills.
- Assist students working in an online format.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Reference from an instructor or professor if you are a current Olympic College student.
- High School Graduation, Equivalent or Current Running Start Student.
- Basic Computer Competency.
Desired Qualifications
- College teaching or previous tutoring experience.
- 3.5 or better in OC CIS networking or programming coursework (or equivalent from another institution).
- Demonstrate excellence in digital literary, critical thinking skills, problem‑solving skills, and computer information systems.
- Follow campus regulations local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and ordinances.
- Work various hours.
- Work successfully in a high‑attendance, high‑volume study center.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Be adaptable and flexible.
- Foster a climate of multicultural understanding and appreciation.
- Function as a team player.
- Possess excellent customer service skills; including building and maintaining internal/external customer satisfaction.

Hourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six‑month period to become eligible for health benefits. Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement. This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with a salary of $19.50 – $25.96 hourly*.
They are not initially eligible for benefits upon hire, but could qualify for the following:
