Tutor – Poulsbo Campus. Salary: $19.50 – $25.96 hourly*. Classification:
Instruction & Classroom Support Tech 1.

Poulsbo Campus.
Reports to:
Director of Tutoring.
This recruitment is to establish an applicant pool for future vacancies. Individuals will be contacted as vacancies occur. Olympic College is continuously recruiting for Instruction & Classroom Support Tech‑Tutor positions that may occur throughout the year for various departments at the Poulsbo Olympic College Campus.
These part‑time positions are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter‑by‑quarter basis. Applicants are considered active for 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Applying does not guarantee a position will be available or offered.
Essential Functions- Providing academic support for students in one or more non‑STEM‑related subject areas.
- Assist students in analyzing assignments and assigned readings.
- Assist students in interpreting discipline‑specific problems and situations.
- Assist students in clarifying critical thinking and/or communication skills.
- Assist students working in an online format.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
- Reference from an instructor or professor if you are a current Olympic College student.
- High School Graduate, Equivalent, or Current Running Start Student.
- Completion of course(s) to be tutored with an average decimal grade of 3.5 or higher.
- Basic computer competency.
- Demonstrate excellence in tutoring subject area.
- Follow campus regulations, local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and ordinances.
- Work various hours.
- Work successfully in high‑attendance, high‑volume study centers.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Be adaptable and flexible.
- Possess excellent customer service skills, including building and maintaining internal/external customer satisfaction.
- Possess an appreciation of diversity and the benefits of a commitment to cultural awareness and sensitivity in the workplace.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the Olympic College mission, vision, and values.
- Demonstrate ethics, integrity, and sound professional judgment.
- Hourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six‑month period to become eligible for health benefits.
- Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement.
- This position is scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week.
- Only candidates currently authorized to work in the United States are considered; we are unable to sponsor visas.

Conditions of EmploymentPrior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. The employee must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the campus to respond to workplace reporting requirements at the time of hiring. Frequent travel to Olympic College campuses or other sites may occur.
