Job Description

Orbis is seeking candidates for work on a professional services contract in support of Commander Naval Air Forces (CNAF) Aircraft Carrier Readiness Support. Orbis provides Professional Engineering Assistance, which includes Engineering Technical Expertise, Engineering Graphic Solutions, Configuration Data Management, Environmental Engineering, and Hazardous Waste/Material Handling to ensure the protection of personnel and the environment. Orbis also delivers Production Control Functions, Material and Logistical Coordination, Quality Assurance, and Computer-Related Capabilities.

These efforts aid USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) class aircraft carriers in matters related to readiness, maintenance, modernization advance planning, work package development and integration, and work package execution.

Required Skills and Experiences
  • Shall assist CNAF leadership to optimize the assessment of readiness for the United States aircraft carrier fleet. Shall evaluate the analysis of the aircraft carrier habitability/livability program effectiveness as it relates to ship operational readiness to meet defined warfare mission areas and improve the existing living conditions.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in CVN maintenance and material management inspection.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ of knowledge of Naval Damage Control references and standards per Naval Instruction requirements.
  • A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in assisting in inspection, development of plans and implementing strategies addressing initiatives that improve training, maintenance, manning, habitability/livability, damage control, operations, medical and dental readiness, equipage, and logistics readiness reporting and visibility for senior Navy leadership.
  • A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in assessing the CVN’s ability to self-evaluate and train.
  • A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in measuring necessary aboard ship to contain, preserve and reestablish watertight integrity, stability, maneuverability and fire safety.
  • A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in the ability to classify surface ship damage control readiness as it pertains to overall program objectives based on data obtained through interaction with ship senior leadership.
  • A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in advising, monitoring, training, assisting, and inspecting CVNs in compliance with current 3-M System directives.
  • A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in examining, researching, and resolving current CVN system and equipment deficiencies by performing efforts to include shipboard system validation.
  • CVN configuration database analysis, technical data inventories; and maintenance supportability analysis.
