Travel RN - Emergency Dept

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring 2+ years of recent ER experience and multiple specialty certifications.

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS, NRP, PALS, and TNCC
• BSN not required for this position
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

• Acute care ER/Trauma Center setting with 12 rooms plus 1 triage room
• Fast track care included within the 12 rooms
• Nurses perform triage duties in the dedicated triage room
• ER holds are intermixed within the department with a goal of 3-hour transfer out
• One ligature-free psych/seclusion room; psych patients requiring watch are transferred out
• Average of 88 patients per day with a 60/40 split of Urgent Care to ER patients
• Typical ratios of 1:4, flexing up to 1:6 for Urgent Care patients
• 6 monitored rooms for telemetry patients with no monitor techs; RNs read strips
• X-ray and CT available in the unit; ultrasound available on-call
• Nurse draw used for phlebotomy
• No RT on site; nurses manage all ventilator needs using the Hamilton C1 vent
• No nurse aides, paramedics, or patient sitters on staff
• Charge nurse on site with house supervisor at the parent hospital
• EPIC EMR used
• Evening shift schedule from 3p-3a on a 6-week rotation with 12-hour shifts
• Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within the 6-week rotation
• No call or standby requirement
• May float to the FSED in Port Orchard, with volunteers given first priority
• In-house security provided with 1 guard on site 24/7
• 1-2 physicians plus 1 mid-level provider on site 10-20 hours a day
• Holiday coverage required for 1 major holiday in summer and 1 major holiday in winter
• Unit/department orientation provided on site with 1-2 shadow shifts plus online modules
• Black scrub color required
