Keep critical systems running. Power what matters.
Are you the person people trust when equipment has to work — no matter what? Do you take pride in running complex systems safely, efficiently, and at peak performance? We're looking for a skilled Stationary Engineer / Boiler Operator to join our facilities team and help keep our steam plant and utility systems running strong. In this role, you'll support essential operations across a healthcare/industrial campus — making a real impact every single day.
WhatYou'll Do
- Operate and maintain steam plant equipment: gas-fired & electric boilers, air compressors, generators, and motors.
- Monitor system performance using meters, gauges, and automated controls — and take action when something doesn't look right.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Conduct water treatment testing and apply chemicals to maximize boiler safety and efficiency.
- Respond to emergency calls, troubleshoot issues, and clearly document your work.
- Partner closely with teammates and contractors to keep systems reliable and projects on track.
- Champion safety — including strict adherence to OSHA and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting ability across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Hands‑on skills with power and hand tools — and a commitment to doing things the right way.
- Familiarity with medium/high‑voltage substations and critical facility systems.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office for documentation, communication, and training.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years' experience in a healthcare or regulated industrial environment.
- Knowledge of industrial HVAC, boilers (up to 5 MMBTU/hr), chillers, and hydronic systems.
- One or more of the following is required:
- A.S. in Mechanical/Electrical Technology (MET)
- MECH Certification
- Accredited Operating Engineer Apprenticeship
- Military Journeyman certification
- Valid Engineer's License & High-Pressure Boiler Operator qualification
- Universal EPA 608 Refrigeration Certification.
- Valid driver's license with an insurable record.
- BAS (Building Automation System) training/certification
- Building Operator Certification (BOC)
- NFPA 70 / 70E training
- Working knowledge of NFPA, NEC, TJC, OSHA, and related codes
- Lift up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent use of hands/arms and clear communication.
- Periodic standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and crawling.
- We provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities.
You'll be part of a skilled, supportive team where your expertise truly matters. Every day brings something new — and your work keeps people safe, comfortable, and operational.
