Evaluate, prepare, and implement designs, processes, and equipment to meet or exceed the requirements of new product projects and improvement projects.

Engineering Manager

• Plan and drive projects to ensure in‑scope, on‑time and on‑cost development and delivery.
• Perform contract review at project start, generate full specification and design to develop new product.
• Manage, lead and take full responsibility of projects from exploration to implementation stage.
• Hands‑on approach: data collection and analysis, write SOPs, build ITPs, champion issue resolution, and support other product development activities.
• Determine root‑cause analysis for issues during assembly and/or testing of systems/products/processes; provide long‑term corrective action.
• Liaise and communicate with internal and external customers to ensure full clarity of project status.
• Lead solution‑generating activities to provide fit‑for‑purpose designs, equipment, tooling and processes, including performing DOE or experimentation.
• Using 3D CAD software, prepare full engineering design drawings to enable successful proof of concept (POC) and handover to operations; conduct in‑depth design review.
• Ensure full project documentation and change control comply with PPE quality systems.
• Agree and control the design freeze stage of allocated projects/new products.
• Lead special projects, existing or new product/tooling and process improvements by working with other departments.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of new business processes; edit as necessary to ensure current practices are documented.
• Perform other duties as assigned that are not typical to the functional area; duties will vary by project or department goals.
• Require strong knowledge in engineering change order process (ECR/ECO), engineering prints, DFx principles, specification waiver process, manufacturability analysis, product structure, BOM and root‑cause analysis.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, non‑engineering staff including technicians.

• Evaluate and present full CAPEX requirements for any proposed resource or equipment.
• Evaluate work methods, procedures and policies.
• Develop moulding tool design/print as needed in collaboration with other functions.

• BS level degree in mechanical, manufacturing or industrial engineering.
• 5‑7 years of demonstrable experience in project lead/management, mechanical, manufacturing, machining, NPI or related experience.
• Experience with polymers, elastomers and plastics processing (plus).
• Experience with ERP system such as JDE for building BOM, product routings, tooling setups, etc.
• Commercially aware and competent user of stage/gate process.
• Demonstrable experience with 3D CAD software such as Solid Works.
• Proficient in understanding and interpreting engineering prints including GD&T; mould tool, jig, fixture design an advantage.
• Capable of working in a fast‑paced dynamic environment and developing solutions to meet customer needs.
• Excellent analytical mind, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Good verbal, written communication and team motivational skills.
• Able to work as part of a team and well organized.
• Self‑driven and able to work with little supervision from manager.
• Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to process, interpret and relay complex and confidential information.
• Willing to travel per business needs on short or long trips.
