The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The centers provide campus‑based direct services and supports at 13 centers located throughout the state.

Essential Job Functions (EJFs)
  • Attend work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Prepare materials for assessments using data from prior assessments and assist in conducting assessments as directed.
  • Accompany individuals to and from activities and appointments, if required.
  • Prepare materials for therapeutic activities and maintain an adequate supply of materials.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in therapeutic activity areas as instructed.
  • Provide assistance to individuals for an assigned therapeutic specialty (e.g., supported employment job coaching and/or vocational rehabilitation and vocational/day program) through hands‑on methods.
  • Perform direct contact observations and complete observation notes.
  • Collect data related to treatment plans as instructed.
  • Provide feedback to the interdisciplinary team about the individual's progress, work with Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to maintain a connection and assist with the development of treatment plans for the assigned discipline.
  • Provide treatment goals that are feasible for the team to implement that are also in the best interest of the individual.
  • Maintain current skills in relation to assigned responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Experience in, or ability to gain experience in, the use of equipment, tools, and materials used in therapeutic activities.
  • Ability to assist in development of treatment and support plans.
  • Ability to collect data for assigned therapeutic specialty (e.g., music therapy, therapeutic recreation, dance/movement therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, or vocational rehabilitation).
