Position PurposeUnder the general supervision of the Director of Technology, maintain the school district's computer and network equipment in operating condition, meeting the technology needs of the district; troubleshoot and repair Chromebook and computer hardware and software, and resolve immediate operational problems.
Essential Performance Responsibilities- Begin with basic Chromebook repair and user support, including troubleshooting, part replacements, software updates, and assisting staff and students with device issues.
- Progress to technical support tasks such as installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading computers, instructional equipment, operating systems, software, and network-connected peripherals.
- Advance into equipment repair and maintenance, diagnosing hardware and connectivity issues, servicing devices, performing data migrations, and maintaining accurate repair and preventive maintenance records.
- Grow into inventory and compliance responsibilities, managing hardware and parts inventory, adhering to district policies and procedures, responding to after‑hours emergencies when required, and performing other technology‑related duties as assigned.
Performs other related tasks as assigned.
EquipmentUses computers, servers, switches, scanners, printers, and related equipment.
Travel RequirementsTravel to school district locations to repair hardware, install software and assist end users.
Knowledge,Skills And Abilities
- Basic understanding of Chromebook components and simple device repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues and apply solutions accurately.
- Skill in installing, configuring, and maintaining computers, Chromebooks, peripherals, and instructional technology (developed over time).
- Knowledge of operating systems, common educational software, and district‑supported applications (or willingness to learn).
- Understanding of basic networking concepts, connectivity troubleshooting, and device deployment tasks (progression skill).
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation, inventory records, repair logs, and preventive maintenance information.
- Capacity to perform data migrations, equipment servicing, and hardware upgrades as skills grow.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, and administrators.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, administrators, vendors, and others encountered in the course of work.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, work independently, and adapt to changing technology needs.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and install equipment and respond to emergencies or additional duties as assigned.
- Use hand tools, test instruments, computers, peripherals, and occasionally operate a small truck or van for transporting equipment.
- Perform tasks requiring prolonged sitting and standing, as well as regular bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and climbing ladders.
- Engage in repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboard and mouse use, walking, grasping, squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and reaching.
- Lift and carry technology equipment, including moderate loads up to 44 pounds and occasional heavy items 45 pounds or more for installation.
- Work in environments with potential electrical hazards, frequent district‑wide travel, and occasional prolonged or irregular hours, including emergency call‑outs.
- Maintain emotional control under stress and perform duties amid frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Related college or technical school coursework.
- Training in computer hardware, software and network use, troubleshooting and repair.
- A+ certification and networking certifications preferred.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Minimum Midpoint $155.11 $ 184.28
