A Typical Day

As you inspire people to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, you’ll build client relationships that grow stronger every year. As a Team Leader, you’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll serve as the front-line manager to develop tax office associates, deliver an outstanding client experience, and achieve office growth objectives.

You’ll also serve as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a tax office team to deliver an exceptional client experience and achieve growth objectives.
  • Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing community involvement.
  • Assist in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
  • Serve as the point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns and ensure proper scheduling and conflict resolution.
  • Direct daily activities to ensure tasks are completed on time with quality standards and aligned with priorities and goals.
  • Train and coach associates to execute service standards and recognize outstanding contributions; lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information.
  • Prepare associate work schedules, ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
  • Prepare tax returns as required and conduct timely performance reviews; address associate issues in collaboration with the Associate Relations Center.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a customer service, shift leader, or similar role.
  • Experience supervising or managing people.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
  • Annual completion of continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; customer-centric mindset.
  • Flexibility in work schedule and assignments based on business needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
