Responsibilities
  • Perform daily foam tests for the Plant's lab.
  • Must be able to cut detailed test samples, perform data entry, issue certification of compliance to customers.
  • Participate in and lead corrective action teams.
  • Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including weekends.
  • Communicate effectively with plant associates and managers.
  • Create and update JHAs and SOPs.
  • Follow all safety and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by the Quality Manager.
  • Work closely with all management, administrative, and production personnel.
  • Identify, document, and dispose of nonconforming products.
  • Understand all processes, including product deficiencies and customer product returns.
  • Assist with training of the Quality Management System, Quality Plans, Work Instructions, and System Procedures.
  • Conform to all quality and safety requirements and procedures.
  • Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement Process.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace.
  • Conduct test procedures including, but not limited to, density, indentation force deflection (IFD), airflow test, tear resistance test, resilience (ball rebound) test, recovery time, and constant deflection compression set test.
  • Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent; A.S. degree preferred.
    • ASQ certification as CQ1 or CQT is desirable.
    • At least two years of lab testing experience.
    • Direct experience within a manufacturing facility under ISO, AS, or IATF management systems with documented training as manager, lead, technician, inspector, and/or auditor.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft applications; SAP experience desirable.
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 current requirements.
    • Detail‑oriented.
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
