Senior Quantity Surveyor

Competitive excellent benefits Our client, a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor working across the UK, is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Southern Region team. Initial projects include a £12m Highways scheme in Folkestone and a major new Entry/Exit System infrastructure project at the Port of Dover.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting and mentoring junior staff Maximising profitability on contracts Monitoring contract costs against budgets Identifying potential risks and evaluating options for control Preparing cost estimates Procuring sub-contractors, including preparation of subcontract documents Assessing and certifying interim and final payments to subcontractors Preparing and agreeing main contract variations Assisting with documentation for dispute resolution (adjudications/arbitrations) Ensuring all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies
What We're Looking For:
An ambitious individual with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach Innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to negotiate across all levels of a construction environment Strong numeracy and IT skills Experience working on civil engineering schemes with a main contractor on Highways works Experience as an SQS working with the NEC form of contract Full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel for this regional role Benefits:
