Environmental Enforcement Officer

Environmental Enforcement Officer – Hounslow – Full Time – 40 hours per week – £30,784 per annum

Environmental Enforcement Officers enforce local laws to protect the area from litter, dog fouling and various other breaches and local bye‑law violations. You will issue tickets and notices to those who breach these.

• Monitor and enforce laws within the area, make enquiries and pursue action where appropriate.
• Examine reports of littering, fly tipping and dog fouling and other similar offences.
• Be able to issue Fixed Penalty Notices for offences where appropriate.
• Prepare and submit relevant cases for trial and assist legal services in presenting cases to court and attend as a witness when needed.
• Record witness statements and conduct interviews under caution when required.
• Validate and verify personal details of offenders.
• Build good working relations with key investors and other agencies including the Police.

• Experience of enforcement work (including security work) preferred.
• Knowledge of green services such as cleansing and waste collection desired.
• Ability to adapt and engage with different audiences and work as part of a team.
• Ability to deal with complaints and resolve complex issues.
• Enthusiasm and a positive “can do” attitude to work.
• A full clean driving licence.

• £30,784 per annum (equivalent to £14.80 per hour).
• 40 hours per week – working any 5 from 7 days, including weekends and bank holidays.
