Job Overview

The PR Manager will play a pivotal role in protecting and promoting the Club’s reputation by developing and delivering integrated communications campaigns that support strategic priorities, commercial ambitions and long-term growth. Working within the corporate communications function and collaborating closely with colleagues across marketing, content, community and corporate affairs, the role will help increase the Club’s visibility and influence across sport, lifestyle, entertainment and business audiences, while helping to strengthen engagement with supporters, the local community, and other key stakeholders.

As a senior PR specialist, the role will lead high-impact communications activity. This includes securing positive media coverage, promoting key club narratives, supporting domestic and international communications initiatives, promoting the work of the Club and its Community Sports Trust, and contributing to wider corporate communications priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work closely with the head of corporate communications and wider communications team, as well as marketing and content departments, to develop and implement integrated campaigns to support the Club's ambitions and strategy
  • Support the development and lead the implementation of proactive PR plans to promote the reputation of the Club
  • Close collaboration with the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust to coordinate PR activities to promote the positive work of the club in the community
  • Support the Club’s international activities working alongside the Head of Corporate Communications and Director of Corporate Affairs to deliver the international PR strategy
  • Proactive media relations to seek opportunities throughout the season, working alongside the Club’s wider communications team. This will include maximising the media agenda and key relevant calendar moments
  • Foster new relationships with relevant and appropriate media across sports, lifestyle and entertainment platforms on behalf of the Club
  • Develop and manage third party support and advocacy e.g. media partnerships, opinion-forming influencers across non-sports sectors
  • Support the Investor Relations strategy to help maximise opportunities presented by the Club’s ownership group
Knowledge
  • Proven experience in media relations with extensive contacts across sports, lifestyle and entertainment media
  • Extensive relevant PR and communications experience including proven PR campaign development and implementation experience with demonstrable results.
