Senior CAD Drafter – Curtain Wall / Storefront Systems
Long Island, NY | Full-Time | Permanent
Established and growing Glass & Glazing Subcontractor on Long Island is seeking a Senior CAD Drafter with strong experience in curtain wall, storefront, and architectural glass systems. We specialize in commercial façade projects including curtain walls, storefronts, canopies, entrances, and custom glazing systems.
Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed shop drawings for curtain wall, storefront, and canopy systems
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings to develop accurate fabrication packages
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and field teams
- Incorporate RFIs, revisions, and field measurements into updated drawings
- Ensure compliance with project specs, structural requirements, and manufacturer standards
- Support fabrication and installation teams with clear, buildable details
- 5+ years of drafting experience in the glass and glazing industry
- Strong curtain wall and storefront detailing experience required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience a plus)
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Strong understanding of façade systems, anchoring, and installation methods
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills
