Help students shine, support teachers, and make school a place they can thrive.

We're looking for a hands-on Learning Support Assistant / SEN Specialist to join a secondary school in South / SE Essex. You'll be working with students across KS3-KS5, including those in mainstream lessons, SEN, or SEMH provisions. This isn't just about ticking boxes - you'll be helping students grow, engage, and succeed, while making a real difference every day.

First-timers, career changers, or seasoned LSAs - all welcome.

What you'll actually do:

Work 1:1 or with small groups, helping students who need extra support

Help teachers run lessons smoothly and manage classrooms

Support behaviour, engagement, and confidence in students

Run targeted interventions for literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development

Track pupil progress alongside the SENCO and pastoral team

Support transitions, EHCP targets, and inclusion initiatives

Communicate with parents, staff, and external agencies when needed

Who will fit in this role:

Someone who's worked with secondary students before (SEN experience a bonus)

Calm, patient, and confident when supporting individuals or small groups

A team player who can organise, communicate, and problem-solve

Someone who gets SEN, SEMH, or EAL needs and knows how to help

Experienced is great, but attitude and reliability count just as much

What's in it for you:

Long-term role with clear, structured responsibilities

Work across mainstream, SEN, and SEMH settings

Competitive pay and opportunities to grow and develop

Join a supportive, friendly team where your work actually matters

If you're ready to roll up your sleeves, support students, and see them flourish, send your CV to Brad at Empowering Learning.
