Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting
Permanent, full-time, 4 days in the office
We are working with a highly regarded and growing business seeking an FP&A Analyst to join its team in Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant (or 1–2 years post-qualified) looking to step into a commercially focused role with real exposure to senior stakeholders.
The hiring manager is particularly keen to meet candidates trained in Audit (ACA/ACCA), who are now looking to move into a role where they can combine strong technical grounding with genuine business partnering.
This is not just a reporting role - it’s an opportunity to add value, influence decision-making, and translate financial information into clear, practical insights for non-finance colleagues. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be working closely with teams across the group.
A little more about the role.....As the FP&A analyst, you will support the Finance Manager and wider finance team in delivering:
- Commercial and financial analysis to support operational decision-making
- Monthly management information across core and JV activities
- Financial control, including balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining a robust control environment
- Half-year and year-end reporting, liaising with Group Finance and external auditors
- JV reporting, funding requests and ad hoc analysis
- Debtor reporting and cash flow oversight
- Review outputs from junior team members (month-end journals, banking journals, funding requests, debtor analysis etc.)
- Provide coaching and informal mentoring to junior colleagues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across systems and processes
- Partner with regional stakeholders to provide clear financial insight and challenge where appropriate
- ACA/ACCA qualified (ideally trained in Audit)
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Newly qualified or up to 2 years post-qualified
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Commercially aware and naturally inquisitive
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Team-oriented with the confidence to challenge constructively
This role offers genuine exposure to senior leadership, strong development potential, and the opportunity to build a career in a commercially focused finance environment.
If you're an auditor looking for your first move into industry - or a recently qualified accountant ready to step into a visible, business-facing role - this could be an excellent next step.
