This is a dual HR and Payroll role, the ideal candidate will have payroll expertise with practical, day-to-day HR management. It’s a hands‑on position responsible for ensuring that all payroll activity, across the UK group, a small US population, and several smaller payrolls runs smoothly, accurately, and in full compliance with statutory requirements.

On the HR side, the role acts as a trusted point of contact for managers and employees, supporting onboarding, policy maintenance, and general HR queries while keeping the organisation aligned with current employment legislation. It also oversees the HR portal, ensuring training and employee records remain up to date.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Payroll Management
  • Process the monthly UK group payroll using payroll software, ensuring accuracy and compliance across auto‑enrolment pension requirements.
  • Manage payroll recharges to departments through the finance system.
  • Process a US payroll via an external US payroll agent, including bi‑monthly payments.
  • Administer several smaller monthly and annual payrolls for a limited number of employees.
  • Prepare and submit pension returns and ensure timely payment of contributions.
  • Post payroll journals into the finance system and complete quarterly reconciliations of payroll control accounts.
  • Ensure full HMRC compliance: P11

    Ds, PSA, Section 690 filings, and all statutory submissions.
  • Assist with administration of the company’s charitable foundation.
Human Resources
  • Manage the full onboarding process for new starters, including contract preparation, right to work checks and inductions.
  • Maintain and update HR policies.
  • Provide HR support, advising managers and employees on HR issues as they arise.
  • Update the HR portal to ensure accurate employee records, allocate staff training.
