Overview

PSD is seeking a highly professional Executive Protection Agent to join our protection team on a part-time or on‑call basis. The agent will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and privacy of a high‑profile client by performing armed and/or unarmed executive protection assignments.

Primary

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead counter‑surveillance and protective advance operations.
  • Provide armed and/or unarmed close protection during domestic and international assignments.
  • Perform protective advance planning and threat vulnerability assessments.
  • Transport the client and/or family members safely using defensive and evasive driving techniques when required.
  • Effectively manage the client and/or their family/representative requests against the need to ensure all safety and security precautions.
  • Respond to emergencies and perform medical assistance as needed.
  • Maintain a low‑profile yet assertive protective posture consistent with the client’s lifestyle.
Security Support & Communication
  • Professionally de‑escalate tense situations or individuals at the client’s residence, workplace, or events.
  • Maintain open communication with team members, client representatives, and operations management.
  • Complete required documentation accurately, including incident reports, shift logs, route plans, and medical treatment reports.
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment are operational, clean, and mission‑ready before each shift.
Reporting & Administration
  • Communicate vulnerabilities or safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Complete suspicious activity reports, incident reports, shift logs, pattern of life reports, medical treatment reports, and other administrative requirements.
  • Assist in scheduling protection shifts and coordinating team assignments.
  • Maintain all protective, operations, and communications equipment in proper working order.
  • Promptly identify and report any equipment or operational deficiencies.
Qualifications
  • Prior law enforcement and/or military experience is highly desired
  • Completion of a recognized Executive Protection Training Program or four‑year degree desired.
  • Valid California BSIS Guard Car.
  • Valid California BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit
  • Valid California Concealed Weapons Permit (CCW)
  • High‑level firearms proficiency and adherence to safe‑handling standards.
  • Medical experience (First Responder, EMT, 18d, Paramedic, Navy Corpsman) highly desired.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
  • Must have a reliable means of communications (i.e., email, cell phone).
  • Must have the ability to speak, read and write English.
  • International or multi‑client experience highly valued.
Driving Responsibilities

Sometimes the agents will perform driver tasks

  • May act as primary driver, as well as follow car driver for principals.
  • Must operate vehicles in a safe and comfortable manner, identify and counter threats along routes, and render aid in the event of an accident or other safety hazard.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in good working order, fueled, and clean.
  • Prepare routes in advance, as well as alternate routes.
Working Conditions & Requirements
  • Must pass all company background, reference, drug, and behavioral screening standards.
  • Maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
  • Exposure to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.
  • Rapid and effective decision‑making during unusual or emergency situations.
  • Work in environments and under conditions that require carrying authorized weapons and ammunition, the use of protective gear and devices, and/or awareness of personal safety and safety of others.
  • Exposure to sensitive and confidential information.
  • Regular use of computers and communication equipment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Must be able to see, hear, speak, and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or customers.
  • Close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequent sitting, standing and/or walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
  • On occasion, may be required to perform stressful and physical activity.
  • Domestic and/or international travel.
  • 24/7 availability to the client.
Pay Rate

$40 - $50 /hr
