Cubitek is a family-owned precision machine shop in Brentwood, NY, in business since 1993, making parts for aerospace, defense and semiconductor customers. This role runs the quality department and takes over first article inspection (FAI) ownership from the current FAI lead, who is retiring in a few months. There is a planned overlap so the handover is gradual.
You will work every day with production leadership and the owners, and you will support the shop's AS9100 quality system.
What you'll be doing- Manage the quality department: two inspectors and one inspector trainee
- Own first article inspections from start to finish, taking over from the current FAI lead
- Support the AS9100 quality system, which is led by one of the co-owners
- Support internal audits
- Work nonconformances and corrective actions
- Work daily with production leadership and the owners
- Stay hands-on in the quality function
- Management or supervisory experience, with strong people skills
- First article inspection (FAI) experience in precision machining or aerospace
- Working knowledge of AS9102, including Forms 1-3 and ballooned drawings
- AS9100 and audit experience
- Blueprint reading and GD&T
- Organized, with a sense of ownership over the work
The pay range is $145,000 - $165,000 per year. This is a full-time, on-site position in Brentwood, NY.
- Medical through Oxford / United Healthcare:
Cubitek pays 80% for the employee and 50% for dependents - Dental paid by Cubitek
- Two weeks of vacation, plus one additional week after five years
- Shop shutdown the week of July 4 and around Christmas and New Year's
- 5 sick days to use as needed
- Standard holidays, excluding MLK Day and Veterans Day
- Profit sharing after the first year, with 20% more vesting each year
