Senior AR Specialist

Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities Manage the full accounts receivable process, including invoicing, cash application, collections, account reconciliation, and dispute resolution. Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on outstanding balances to reduce delinquency and improve cash flow. Research and resolve customer billing issues, payment discrepancies, short pays, and deductions. Apply customer payments accurately and ensure proper documentation of account activity.

Analyze customer accounts and recommend appropriate collection strategies. Prepare and maintain AR reports, aging analyses, and collection metrics for management review. Collaborate with sales, customer service, and accounting teams to resolve account issues and improve payment performance. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including AR reconciliations and journal entries. Support audits by providing requested documentation and account analysis. Identify opportunities to improve AR processes, controls, and efficiencies.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior AR staff as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls. Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 4+ years of progressive accounts receivable or accounting experience. Strong understanding of AR processes, billing, cash application, and account reconciliations. Experience managing high-volume customer accounts and collections activities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis functions.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Net Suite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
