Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organizedConstruction Project Manager (PM)to join our growing team. In this position, you will oversee financial budgets, coordinate subcontractors, and manage the construction process to meet contractual requirements. You will also organize schedules, track inventory, and oversee material ordering. Project Managers work in many areas of development and are responsible for managing a project from start to finish.
Their duties include putting together a project schedule, hiring subcontractors, negotiating contracts, and obtaining permits.
PMs supervise construction, repair, and design-build projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. An understanding of the construction business and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment are important for career success. PMs control the time, cost, and quality of construction projects awarded by government, commercial, and industrial clients. They plan and coordinate all aspects of the construction process, including hiring subcontractors and working with engineers, architects, vendors, field personnel, logistics professionals, and others to complete all aspects of the projects within quality, time, and budgetary constraints.
PMs are therefore responsible for keeping assigned projects on track. They must possess the ability to not only manage current situations as they arise, but also anticipate future challenges to resolve issues before they become problems.
Duties:
- Perform daily coordination with all project site superintendents, updating PSP leadership on construction progress and support needed at each site.
- Collect and organize all electronic documentation for each project, including pre-bid, bid, pre-construction, construction, and close-out documents.
- Develop pre-construction submittals for client review / approval, including material submittals, quality control, safety, risk management, and design quality control plans.
- Coordinate with internal and external agencies to draft and edit work plans and other design packages.
- Provide routine communication, including e-mail and telephonic contact with vendors, subcontractors, customers, and PSP personnel.
- Utilize Procore, US Army Corps of Engineers Record Management System (RMS), and similar project management software systems to input, manage, and track project data.
- Prepare, submit, and update project data, reports, and submittals to meet contractual requirements and client / leadership expectations, to include:
- File daily reports.
- Prepare and transmit submittals on time to meet contractual requirements.
- Update schedule progress and provide appropriate management tools to the client and PSP leadership.
- Track client review of submittals and follow-up as needed.
- Identify material and equipment requirements for project execution and coordinate delivery when needed to meet timelines.
- Prepare project budgets with schedules of values. Develop, coordinate, and submit draft and final invoices for payment per contract requirements.
- Coordinate inspection and oversight of the Client’s Quality Assurance Representative to minimize project delays.
- Develop, implement, and oversee the Site-Specific Safety and Health Plan / Accident Prevention Plan and other applicable documents to ensure projects are performed in a safe manner.
- Participate in, and /or assist with the conduct of pre-bid site visits, site investigations, kick-off meetings, and pre-construction meetings as required.
- Coordinate work requirements with one or more Assistant PMs.
- Perform other administrative and management tasks as necessary to deliver projects on time and on budget.
Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
- Three years’ experience as a construction project manager or in a similar position in construction management.
- Able to manage and motivate employees, teams, and subcontractors to accomplish project goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
