Design Engineer

AG&E is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our structural engineering team and contribute to complex, high‑profile projects in commercial, institutional, mission critical, educational, aviation, and healthcare sectors
. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with senior engineers, interface directly with clients, and work on challenging and rewarding designs.

• Perform structural analysis and design through hand calculations and computer modeling.
• Prepare project materials, specifications, and structural configurations.
• Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines to deliver well‑integrated designs.
• Support construction contract administration by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site observations.
• Mentor and review work of other engineers and technical staff.
• Contribute to internal technical training and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
• Engage in client meetings and industry networking events.

• BS in Civil or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis) from an ABET‑accredited program; MS preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience (may be reduced with MS or SE license).
• Progress toward a Professional Engineer (PE) license (structural designation).
• Proficiency in Bentley RAM, Tekla Structural Designer, and Autodesk Revit preferred.
• Strong understanding of building codes and structural materials (concrete, post‑tensioned concrete, steel, masonry, and wood).
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills.
