CompensationThe salary range for this position is $75,600 – $80,000.
SummaryThe System Analyst Security Operations Center/Network Operations Center (SOC/NOC) II manages daily operational disruptions, team workloads, and ensures timely resolution of incidents while adhering to network and security KPIs, SLAs and regulations. This role delivers 24/7 support for Core Civic's network and security operations through advanced troubleshooting, threat analysis and incident response, ensuring system security and aiding in the company's cyber regulatory compliance.
EssentialFunctions
- Provide real‑time event monitoring of security systems such as SIEM, IDS/IPS and firewalls; monitor network traffic for unusual activity and potential threats; engage in proactive threat hunting using Microsoft Defender and other advanced tools.
- Monitor and support network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, etc.) for performance, availability and reliability; assist with performance tuning and capability planning.
- Conduct thorough threat and root‑cause analysis, collaborate to resolve identified issues, document incidents, and generate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports.
- Utilize Microsoft Defender ATP for advanced threat protection and endpoint detection & response (EDR); resolve high‑priority incidents such as malware, phishing and DDoS attacks, escalating unresolved issues when required.
- Use threat intelligence and automation to enhance the effectiveness of network security operations; troubleshoot and resolve network issues such as outages, latency, packet loss and connectivity problems.
- Coordinate with internal teams and third‑party vendors for rapid issue resolution and ensure timely escalation of persistent or critical network issues.
- Develop and facilitate training sessions for team development; educate employees on security policies and best practices to recognize potential threats.
- Maintain detailed documentation and briefings to ensure seamless handover of incidents between shifts.
- Travel domestically within the U.S. as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
- Minimum two years of experience in SOC/NOC operations and management.
- CompTIA Network+ and/or Security+ certification.
- Familiarity with routing and switching technologies and wireless network equipment.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and delegate responsibilities.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
