Director of Power Grid Sales

Join Copperweld as a high-performing leader to drive commercial success across the Power Grid and renewable energy sectors.

Copperweld seeks a motivated, team-oriented Director to oversee a team of Regional Sales Managers and lead strategic growth initiatives. The role reports to the President of Utilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team focused on power grid and renewable energy markets, fostering a culture of accountability and results.
  • Set and manage annual sales and EBITDA targets across all territories and product lines.
  • Develop and execute national go-to-market strategies, including market segmentation, strategic account planning, and channel optimization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders: electric utilities, EPCs, engineering firms, renewable developers, and contractors.
  • Drive product specification adoption and brand awareness for Copperweld products in solar, wind, battery storage, and traditional grid applications.
  • Oversee and optimize the performance of manufacturing representatives and distribution partners to align with commercial objectives and customer expectations.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competition to inform strategic decisions.
  • Represent Copperweld as a thought leader at major industry events.
  • Align sales strategies with product innovation, operations, and customer support teams.
  • Provide regular performance updates and strategic insights to the executive team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred but not required.
  • 10+ years of wire and cable sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role; renewable energy or utility infrastructure exposure strongly preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution sales within the utility or energy sectors.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical, creative, and detail-oriented mindset with adaptability.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and collaborate cross‑functionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, ERP systems, and CRM.
