The Health & Benefits Consultant is accountable for expanding existing relationships and delivering high quality and efficient service to both internal and external clients through the day-to-day account management of an assigned group of client accounts of moderate to high complexity. This role directly contributes to key business outcomes such as revenue growth, client retention, client satisfaction, enhancing AJG s value to our clients and prospects, achieving operating/margin targets and fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.
The primary areas of focus are:
- Supporting the business priorities of Branch Managers, Production team members, and the client service function
- Independently managing accounts of increasing complexity
- Growing revenue by counseling clients on additional business opportunities via cross-selling and up-selling
- Driving Client Service Cycle
- Delivering high quality client service consistent with AJG standards and practices
- Achieving operational productivity and performance metrics
- Growing and profitably managing an assigned group of client accounts
- Building relationships with existing clients through exceptional ongoing customer care
- Seeking referrals from current client base to solicit new business prospects
- Securing existing business and actively driving the sale of additional services
- Acting as a strategic relationship manager and client liaison
- Providing oversight in the sale of products/services to prospects and existing accounts
- Offering training, development, and supervision to lower-level staff where appropriate
Required: Bachelor s degree with 7+ years of client service and/or claims management experience. Must hold appropriate licensing as required and be able to travel up to 50% of the time. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and in using technology to maximize productivity and quality. Previous experience in managing client relationships essential. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred: Insurance knowledge. Employee Benefits experience preferred, as well as solid financial acumen
