Join Our Child Development Team as a Family Support Coach!

As a full-time Family Support Coach, you will be a vital partner to families. You will collaboratively develop Family Partnership Agreements that honor each family’s strengths while identifying goals, interests, and needs. Your direct support will help families achieve greater well‐being, focusing on crucial areas like safety, health, and economic stability. This role (36 hours per week) runs for the academic year (42 weeks) and is located at the Brewer Community School.

Family Support Coach Responsibilities- Work directly with clients to provide intensive case management, through intake and assessment, while collaborating with the family to develop a family plan.
- Provide follow‑up through telephone calls, home and office visits, and record reviews.
- Regular check‑ins with families to develop positive, trusting relationships. Supporting parents in both one‑on‑one and group settings.
- Ensure families are full partners in their own and their child’s development and learning by helping them develop and reach achievable, short‑ and long‑term goals.
- Advocate for clients, as liaison between families, Penquis staff and other community agencies, and providers.
- Develop and maintain strong community partnerships by participating in community committee work which promotes healthy families.
- Associate’s degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field. Penquis Child Development will pay for newly hired staff to obtain appropriate credentials or continue educational opportunities.
- 1‑2 years experience working in a social service‑based program with children and families.
- Previous experience working with families facing parenting challenges; working knowledge of area resources for low‑income individuals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency and experience, including word processing skills.
- Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The rate of pay for this position starts at $19.85 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience. Those with related education and experience are encouraged to apply.
