Overview

Medical Office Assistant - Referral Coordinator/Scheduling — DW McMillan Memorial Hospital (Escambia County Health Care Authority). Full-time position with a day shift. Homebase/Place of work will be in the Business Office of DW McMillan Memorial Hospital.

• Obtain prior authorization and send referrals
• Perform clerical functions necessary to upload documents into the patient chart in the EMR
• Schedule appointments
• Verify insurance
• Collect payments
• Communicate clearly to physicians, patients, and multiple personnel in person and by phone
• Function as a team member, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to multi-task
• The job requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting

• High School education or equivalent is required
• The candidate must be willing to work in a fast past environment
• Ability to communicate clearly to physicians, patients, and multiple personnel in person and by phone
• Must function as a team member with strong interpersonal skills and be able to multi-task
