Overview
37 hours per week Term Time. The Governing Body of Tremains Primary School are seeking to appoint a friendly, organised and reliable Administrative Assistant to join our busy primary school office team.
This is a key role at the heart of the school, providing administrative support and acting as a welcoming first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors.
Key responsibilities- Providing front‑of‑house reception support, including answering phones and greeting visitors
- Handling correspondence, emails and routine enquiries
- Minute taking and typing of various confidential reports and documents
- Supporting attendance, admissions and general office administration
- Assisting the wider school team with day‑to‑day administrative tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in a school environment desirable but not essential – training will be provided
- Numerate and well organised, efficient, able to manage competing priorities
- Confident using IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Work well as part of a team and use initiative when required
- Calm, professional and child‑friendly manner
- Flexible approach to working
- Some knowledge of the SIMS package advantageous but not essential; must be computer literate with excellent word‑processing and numeracy skills
- Ability to work within tight timescales – essential requirement
- Ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh – required
- Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
- Enhanced with Children’s Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
