Join our Acute Medicine team as a Part-Time Ward Clerk/Receptionist, providing essential administrative and reception support within our busy Same Day Emergency Care Unit.
In this key front-facing role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors and colleagues, ensuring a professional, welcoming and efficient service at all times. You will undertake a wide range of administrative duties, supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the unit and helping to maintain high standards of patient care.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise their own workload using initiative and experience. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, liaising professionally with multidisciplinary teams, patients and visitors, and handling confidential information appropriately.
Duties will include reception services, data entry, record management, answering telephone enquiries, coordinating appointments and providing general administrative support to the Acute Medicine Clinical Team.
This role would suit an organised, motivated individual with strong customer service skills and a commitment to delivering a high-quality service within the NHS.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to service needs. To work as a member of a team providing an efficient and comprehensive clerical support service for the Acute Medicine Clinical Team and visitors to the Same Day Emergency Care Unit. Thereby supporting the delivery of high quality service to patients and staff within the Department.
The post holder will also be expected to liaise in a professional manner with colleagues, visitors and patients and undertake a wide spectrum of administrative duties.
The post holder will be expected to manage and prioritise their own workload using experience and initiative.
This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. Whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means being able to use Welsh in routine workplace situations, such as greeting customers, answering calls, responding to routine enquiries, providing information, arranging appointments and taking messages.
