We are a long-established well-regarded training Practice situated in expanded premises in the town centre. Close to the coast and with easy access to the Brecon Beacons and the Gower. The area has good local state schools.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried Doctor to join our friendly, forward-thinking team.

Our Primary Care Team includes 9 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 2 Practice Pharmacists, Practice Nurse Manager, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, HCAs and excellent administrative staff.

The Practice is an active member of Bridgend East Network Cluster and of Pen y Bont Health Ltd, the first federated GP Cluster in Wales. The role will include a varied general practice workload, including face to face and telephone consultations, management of acute and long term conditions, prescribing and clinical administration.

We are a large forward-thinking long established Practice situated in expanded premises in Bridgend town centre. Close to the coast and with very easy access to the M4 corridor.

Our Practice population is 18931 and we have a mixed patient demographic.

We are very proud of our friendly, hardworking team, which includes 9 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, a team of Practice Pharmacists managed by our Senior Pharmacist and a Practice Nurse team led by our Nurse Manager, including Nurse Practitioners, Health Care Assistants and Phlebotomists. Our Clinical teams receive excellent support from our ancillary staff.

We are a well-regarded training Practice and have several GP Registrars. We also provide undergraduate teaching to years 1 and 2 medical students and support student nurses and pharmacists. We are members of the Bridgend East Network Cluster and Pen y Bont Health Federation, the first federated GP Cluster in Wales. We use EMIS computer system. We are also proud to be a Park Run Practice.

Job summary:

The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

• In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
• Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
• Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
• Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
• In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
