Position Overview

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as an SEN Teaching Assistant supporting students with special educational needs within our network of schools in Plymouth and the surrounding areas.

- Work with pupils on a one‑to‑one basis or in small groups
- Support the teacher in delivering informative and engaging lessons
- Support students with challenging behaviour
- Prepare for lessons (e.g., preparing resources, putting out equipment)
- Support pupils with additional care needs (e.g., feeding, toileting)
- Support children in completing day‑to‑day tasks around the classroom and with their learning
- Ensure that pupils are safeguarded and supported
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get one
- Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs
- Two recent professional references
- Experience with challenging behaviours
- A calm and caring personality
- A strong and resilient personality and commitment to pupils' development
- Reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills
- Team Teach trained or willing to attend training
The successful candidate will work closely with a dedicated, hardworking, and talented staff in an attractive and well‑resourced learning environment, guided and supported by the class teacher and senior leadership team at a school with a clear vision that prioritises the well‑being of their students.
