Salary:
Scale 4: £26,804 - £29,743 per annum, rising to Scale 5/6 £ 30,165 - £36,536 per annum on completion of assessor awards (plus a £2,500 per annum market supplement).

We’re looking for a highly skilled, motivated professional to join our team as a Work Based Learning Assessor in Carpentry. This is a chance to mentor the next generation of tradespeople, turning workplace experience into accredited qualifications.
As our Carpentry Assessor, you will be the vital link between the apprentice, the employer, and their qualification journey. You’ll use your expert knowledge to:
- Assess learners in their working environment up to NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Wood Occupations and related qualifications.
- Mentor and coach apprentices, providing the guidance and support they need to master complex skills.
- Work closely with employers to ensure the training meets industry standards and business needs.
- Track progress and manage the learning portfolio process.
- Proven, hands‑on experience in Carpentry and/or Joinery (Essential).
- Expert knowledge of current industry practices and safety standards.
- Experience of roofing.
- The drive and personality to inspire and motivate learners of all levels.
- Ideally, an Assessor qualification (e.g., A1, TAQA, or equivalent) or a willingness to work toward one.
