Progress Coach (Welsh Essential)
Full Time (37 hours per week)
Term Time Only and Fixed Term - March 2027
Salary scale 5: £30,165 - £33,119 (pro rata)
Please note, actual salary will be based on the number of term time only weeks worked.
We have an opportunity for the right individual to join us in the role of a Progress Coach, joining our existing team at Bridgend College.
Job Purpose:
To champion student progress and success by managing a person‑centred learner journey for a cohort of students, enabling them to be all that they can be.
To develop and support the personal, social and emotional wellbeing of students, building their confidence, resilience and core skills through the Learning Programme Promise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver high levels of care and compassion to young people in a post‑16 environment.
- Use a person‑centred approach to support learners' progress and wellbeing.
- Provide diplomacy, tact and emotional resilience when working with challenging students.
- Work collaboratively with a supportive team passionate about the learner journey.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Experience of successfully working with young people in a post‑16 environment.
- Registration as an FE Learning Support worker with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Enhanced DBS disclosure for child and adult workforce.
- Evidence of identity and eligibility to work in the UK; right to work in the UK.
- Good Welsh language skills; specify preference for language of assessment/interview.
