Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 3:30 – No weekends!
We are delighted to be working in partnership with a Special Educational Needs School in Bridgend. The school supports young people from 3 to 19 years of age with Special Educational Needs and currently seeks full‑time members of staff to join the team of educators.
The SchoolPupils are taught within small year‑group classes, usually not exceeding more than 10 pupils per class, with generous staffing in relation to the specific needs of the class consisting of a teacher and a team of Learning Support Assistants. The school aims to promote and develop pupils’ learning, self‑esteem, behaviour and confidence by providing rich and individualised learning opportunities and creating an exciting, child‑centred, empowering and inclusive school community.
The RoleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will support young people in both their personal and educational development based on their individual development plans. You will provide support both in and outside the classroom, including sensory and practical lessons, to make a significant impact in the school. You will be expected to demonstrate a positive mental attitude, promote independence and build strong, positive relationships with the young people.
Training will be provided by Teaching Personnel and the school to ensure you are confident in your role.
Responsibilities- Support young people in line with their individual development plans.
- Assist with sensory and practical lessons inside and outside the classroom.
- Promote a positive attitude and independence among pupils.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pupils and the school team.
- Participate in training and professional development sessions.
- Enhanced DBS checked on the Update Service.
- Education Workforce Council registration.
- Ability to travel to Bridgend during the hours 8:30 – 3:30.
- At least two referees able to provide references.

Additional InformationAll pay rates quoted are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position, with the possibility of becoming permanent at a later date.
