Are you passionate about sports, fitness and helping young people reach their full potential? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Bridgend. The provision itself is a specialist school in Bridgend for pupils aged 7-19 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD/BESD), autism, and additional learning needs (ALN). The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment, helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence through strong relationships, tailored support and a focus on wellbeing and personal growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a sports coach, graduate, or individual with a background in sports and physical activity who is looking to make a positive impact within education.
As a Sports Coach Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You will use your coaching skills to engage students, promote positive behaviour, encourage participation, and help improve confidence and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting teachers during lessons and school activities
- Delivering sports-based interventions and enrichment activities
- Working with pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Supporting students with additional learning or behavioural needs
- Promoting teamwork, resilience, and confidence through physical activity
- Assisting with PE lessons, extracurricular clubs and school events
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience coaching sports or working with children and young people
- A positive, energetic and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to motivate and inspire pupils of varying abilities
- Patience, empathy and a passion for supporting young people
- Previous school or education experience (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
