Description and requirements What do you want from your work? From your life?

If you’re looking for more than just a job, if you want to make a real difference with every decision you make, you’re in the right place.

Skanska is one of the largest construction and development companies in the world. Together, we shape how we live, work and connect – we build from the ground up and maintain your local communities, infrastructure and transportation.

We’re excited to open applications for our 2026 Apprenticeship Programme, starting in September. This is your opportunity to build a meaningful career where your work contributes to healthier, greener, and more inclusive places for people to thrive.

Our apprenticeship programme is a great opportunity to study towards a college or university qualification while putting everything you have learned into action through on-the-job training. You will have the support of mentors who care about your growth, and you will establish a career where you will develop the technical and interpersonal skills to help you succeed and make a lasting impact.

We are looking for a Trainee BIM (Building Information Modelling) Technician to join our design team in Bridgend. We will support you to complete vocational training and help to build your skills in the use of BIM and digital engineering tools. You can look forward to a challenging and enjoyable job where no two days will be the same – you could be working on projects ranging from highways design, building projects, working with our water team, or working on bridges or industrial structures.

  • Work with members of the design and construction teams to produce coordinated 3D REVIT models and drawings to facilitate construction of a variety of types of construction projects.

What you'll bring to the role:
  • You should hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 4 to 9, including Maths and English, for us to successfully enrol you on this apprenticeship.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment where your contributions are valued and celebrated.
  • Dependable team player who actively supports and promotes collective success.
  • Inquisitive and driven by a passion to grow and innovate.
  • Although no previous experience is required, you will have a passion for the construction industry and will want to help shape the future.
