As a Senior Hydrologist, you will join a technically excellent, diverse, hardworking, and agile team of professionals, where your achievements are celebrated, and your professional development encouraged.
Responsibilities- Conduct hydrological investigations, including surveys, flow gauging, and water sampling.
- Analyse and interpret catchment / hydrological data, including flow data, water quality, flow paths, flood conveyance and flood zones.
- Conduct numerical modelling to support conceptual site models and risk assessments.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and other documents for clients and regulators.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulators.
- Collaborate with principal staff members on project management and technical guidance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
- A postgraduate degree level qualification in either Hydrogeology, Engineering, Catchment Management, Hydrology, Geomorphology or similar
- At least 4 years demonstratable practical and technical experience
- Experience of UK water resources and permitting legislation
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite and ArcGIS
- Experience with Grapher, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, Causeway Flow, ReFH2, WINFAP, and/or AutoCAD is advantageous
- Ambitious and enthusiastic, and a confident verbal and written communicator
- A self-starter, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work, with imaginative and practical problem-solving skills
- Confidence and aptitude to work in both office and fieldwork environments
- Superb team working and project management skills
- A valid full UK driving licence
- A positive, self-starting and flexible attitude with a real interest in learning and growth
- A desire to get stuck in quickly and apply expertise in a pragmatic way
- A passion for building great relationships with colleagues and clients alike
- Competitive salary of £38,000+, depending on experience
- Permanent, full-time contract (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
