Wintel Project Consultant Position Overview

At CGI, you’ll support the delivery and modernisation of critical Wintel infrastructure environments that underpin essential services across enterprise clients.

As a Wintel Senior Consultant within the IEM South Technical Projects and Excellence team, you’ll take ownership of technical delivery across complex infrastructure projects, helping design, implement, and transition secure and scalable solutions.

You’ll work in a collaborative environment where you can contribute to operational excellence, support infrastructure transformation, and mentor others while continuing to grow your own technical expertise.

• Deliver and implement enterprise Wintel infrastructure solutions and project work
• Lead infrastructure changes aligned with operational and security standards
• Develop and maintain Low Level Designs, DR plans, and technical documentation
• Automate operational tasks using Power Shell and related tooling
• Work closely with clients, suppliers, and internal delivery teams
• Mentor and support junior engineers through knowledge sharing
• Drive continuous service improvement and operational efficiency
• Support planning, estimation, and coordination of project activities
• Manage patching, OS installs, backups, and scheduled changes (including out-of-hours work where needed)

• Strong hands‑on experience with VMware and/or Hyper‑V
• Windows Server experience (2008 onwards)
• Strong Power Shell scripting and automation skills
• Experience delivering enterprise infrastructure projects
• Ability to produce technical documentation and LLDs
• Good stakeholder and customer communication skills
• Ability to work independently in secure, complex environments

Also required:

• Eligibility for SC clearance (or active SC clearance)
• Eligibility for NPPV3 clearance (or active clearance)

• Microsoft Azure experience
• Azure Local knowledge
• Ansible or other automation tools
• AZ-800 / AZ-801 certifications
