Product Design Engineer

Shape products people actually use, from prototype to production. We’re hiring a Product Design Engineer in Bridgend for a hands‑on sports and consumer products business, paying £35,000 to £40,000, with on‑site prototyping, international supplier travel and a busy roadmap of new products to deliver.

As Product Design Engineer, you’ll take physical products from early feasibility through to mass manufacture. This is a delivery‑focused role across CAD, prototyping, DFM, tooling and supplier liaison.

• Design plastic parts for tooling, moulding, assembly and cost‑effective manufacture.
• Build, test and iterate prototypes using on‑site facilities in Bridgend.
• Liaise with tooling suppliers in China and manufacturing partners in Kenya.
• Own three to four concurrent projects across accessories, lighting, cases and product variants.

• Proven experience as a Product Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or Design Engineer delivering physical products.
• Strong SOLIDWORKS skills, or high proficiency in Creo, NX or Inventor.
• Plastic injection moulding experience, including DFM, tooling reviews and production sign‑off.
• Comfortable owning detailed design work with limited hand‑holding.
• Able to work on‑site in Bridgend, with willingness to travel internationally.
