You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based Bridgend in where we are responsible for bringing design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide - combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.
We are currently looking for a STL Project Engineer who will be responsible for the technical, commercial and operational delivery of projects, providing leadership to project teams and developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
As the STL Project Engineer, you will:- Helping to grow and develop the team through recruitment, mentoring and the professional development of graduate and junior engineers, including supporting progression towards ICE and CIHT professional qualifications.
- Combine the technical challenge of consultancy design with the practical reality of construction delivery, working directly alongside Skanska project teams to develop solutions that are not only technically robust but buildable and deliverable.
- Key leadership role within the team, offering the opportunity to lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects while helping shape and grow our future capability.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, CDM requirements and Skanska quality processes.
- Lead the delivery of highways and infrastructure design projects from feasibility through to construction.
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) and Chartered with ICE or CIHT.
- Proven experience leading the delivery of highways and infrastructure projects, including managing programmes, budgets and resources.
- Strong technical knowledge of highways design and relevant UK standards, with the ability to review, assure and mentor across disciplines including geometric design, traffic signs, road markings, road restraint systems and wider highway infrastructure.
- Experience providing technical leadership, developing engineers and supporting professional development towards chartership.
- Strong client, stakeholder and team management skills.
- Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary project teams.
