We are seeking an experienced Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) professional with experience to lead the delivery of high-quality, risk-focused DDaT internal audit services for our government clients. This senior role offers the opportunity to shape and oversee complex DDaT audit programmes. You will provide strategic assurance and valuable insights on technology, governance, risk management and controls. You will drive innovation, champion best practice, and help government organisations strengthen their resilience and decision-making in an increasingly digital environment.

Accountabilities
  • Lead and deliver high-quality DDaT internal audit engagements across multiple central government clients in line with GIAA methodology and following the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) for the public sector.
  • Support the DDaT audit specialism by delivering insights, sharing best practice and enhancing organisational capability.
  • Lead, coach and develop audit teams within a matrix environment, promoting collaboration, innovation and high performance.
  • Provide strategic oversight and assurance on governance, risk management, internal controls and digital/IT risks.
  • Manage complex and high-risk audits, ensuring timely delivery, robust evidence and impactful recommendations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our government clients, senior stakeholders, the National Audit Office (NAO) and key government bodies.
  • Assess emerging political, economic, technological, regulatory and legal developments to inform DDaT audit planning and reporting.
About You

We are seeking an experienced digital, data and technology (DDaT) audit professional with a strong track record in planning, managing and delivering risk-based internal audit portfolios that generate valuable insights and strengthen IT risk management. You will have experience leading DDaT audit teams, assessing capability and resource needs, managing workloads effectively and influencing senior stakeholders to embed robust governance, risk management and internal control practices, even in challenging environments.

You will need to be highly organised and thrive working to tight deadlines. As you will work as a trusted adviser to our clients, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills will be the key to your success!

You must be Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualified.

Other qualifications in AI, Data or IT would be advantageous.
