This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

Provide Health & Safety related advice and support in line with current regulation, directly to Directorate Managers, Heads of Departments. They will provide support to all staff across all of the hospital sites, within.
They will require strong motivational and persuasive skills and will be responsible for the smooth co‑ordination of specific tasks. This will include an annual Health & Safety audit of their respective areas.
They will take responsibility for revising and monitoring their own Health & Safety related training programmes.
They need to have knowledge of all CTMUHB Policies and Procedures as well as other documentation and advise Heads of Department accordingly.
They will advise Directorate Heads in areas such as Risk Assessments, COSHH, Manual Handling Co‑ordination, Provision of PPE, VDU assessments, Noise etc.
They will Co‑ordinate COSHH issues for their area. They will be supported by the COSHH Co‑ordinator.
The post holder will attend Directorate meetings of relevance. They will encourage department heads to implement development actions. They will devise remedial action plans as a consequence of these meetings.
The post holder will be guided by the requirements of Legislation, National Guidance and UHB Strategies and Policies.

Person Specification Qualifications and/or Knowledge- Degree level or possess the equivalent level of Knowledge and experience.
- Evidence of recent and relevant continuous professional development.
- I.T skills and a knowledge of Microsoft Power‑point/Word/Excel essential.
- Ability to develop and deliver training packages.
- Ability to be adaptable and innovative with a problem‑solving approach, applying theoretical knowledge to a wide range of practical situations.
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and general management skills, and an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to cope with a high workload and must be able to prioritise workload.
- Must be able to work unsupervised on own initiative and as part of a team.
