Our client is a friendly young woman with Cerebral Palsy who lives at home with support from an established care team. She requires assistance with all aspects of daily living, personal care, mobility, therapeutic programmes and accessing the community.
We are looking for a warm, patient and reliable Female Support Worker who will take the time to get to know her, understand how she communicates and build a positive, trusting relationship. The successful applicant will need to be comfortable providing hands-on care and working as part of a consistent and supportive team.
Our client also completes regular hydrotherapy sessions at home as part of her therapy programme. The successful applicant will therefore need to be confident in and around water and able to support her safely during hydrotherapy sessions.
The role involves a combination of day shifts, sleep-in shifts and waking nights when required, including weekends and bank holidays, so flexibility to work both days and nights is essential. Applicants must also hold a full UK driving licence and be willing and able to drive the client’s adapted vehicle to support her with appointments, activities and community access.
A full induction and training will be provided. This role is subject to an Enhanced level DBS check.
Essential requirements
* The successful applicant must hold a full UK driving licence and be willing and able to drive the client’s adapted mobility vehicle as a routine part of the role. This includes supporting the client to attend appointments, activities and access the community.

* Confident in and around water and willing to support the client during hydrotherapy sessions.

* Comfortable providing personal care and supporting an individual with complex physical needs.
* Ability to build and maintain a positive, professional relationship with the client and her family.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of an established care team and alongside health professionals.

* Willingness to register with Social Care Wales, if not already registered.
Top Reasons to Apply:
* Competitive rates of pay.

* Opportunity to make a genuine difference to the client’s independence, wellbeing, community access and quality of life.
* Bespoke induction and training specific to the client’s needs, including moving and handling, PEG/Mic-Key care and therapy support.
