About the role

Location: Home Grown Hotels, Clayhill, Lyndhurst, Hampshire, SO43 7DD

Salary: £16.30 per hour (9 Month Fixed Term Contract - September start)

About Us

At THE PIG, we believe in doing the little things brilliantly. As a collection of multi-award-winning boutique hotels across the South of England, we are proud to be restaurants with rooms, with our Kitchen Gardens at the heart of everything we do.

Our ambition is clear — to be the future of caring, considered hospitality — and that starts with our People. This is where you come in.

The Role

We’re looking for a proactive and commercially aware People Advisor to join our People team on a fixed-term basis, with a strong focus on Employee Relations (ER).

This is a hands-on, advisory role where you’ll partner closely with operational leaders across the business, providing expert HR guidance while driving a consistent, best-practice approach to people management.

You’ll play a key role in managing ER cases, supporting employee engagement initiatives, and contributing to wider HR projects — helping to continuously enhance the employee experience across the group.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll act as a trusted HR partner, supporting managers and employees across a broad range of people matters, including:

  • Leading and advising on a wide range of ER cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, and capability
  • Coaching and influencing managers to build confidence in handling people matters effectively
  • Supporting complex cases such as family leave, flexible working, and long-term absence
  • Managing workplace investigations and hearings where required
  • Driving best practice and early intervention to reduce ER escalation
  • Monitoring case trends and providing insight to support decision-making
  • Ensuring all casework and documentation meets GDPR and legal standards
  • Supporting policy development and keeping the business up to date with employment legislation
  • Partnering with People Development to promote learning and engagement initiatives
  • Contributing to wider People Team projects and continuous improvement activity
About You

We’re looking for a confident HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment:

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end ER casework
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, particularly the Employment Rights Act
  • Experience advising and influencing managers at all levels
  • A natural relationship builder with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • Hospitality experience would be beneficial, but not essential
Why Join Us?

You’ll be joining a values-led business where people genuinely come first. This is a great opportunity to make a tangible impact, working closely with senior stakeholders while developing your ER expertise in a supportive and collaborative team with the potential for the role to be extended or offered full time.

We are dedicated to making THE PIGs an inspiring, exciting, and fun place to work and in return for your hard work you can expect something a little different:

  • Work with a reputable people-led business where PIG values sit at the forefront of what we do
  • Unlimited staff stays – free B&B across all our properties
  • 35% discount on food, beverages & treatments.
  • Annual holiday increase (up to 33 days)
  • Take home goods – cost price.
  • Free access for you and your family to an on-demand GP, Physiotherapy, and counselling services through Help@Hand.
  • Critical Illness cover
  • Death in service cover
  • A range of learning & development courses.
  • Anniversary vouchers – dinner with wine for 2.
